We had an excellent 4 days at Block Island, RI. After a great sail, we spent the first quiet night there on a mooring. We are still learning the boat and it was nice to get some time away from a dock to get used to living off grid.
Our friends Pat & Nick, who we usually backcountry ski or bike with, came over on the ferry on Thursday. We walked over and met them then walked back to the boat.
That afternoon we went out for a little day sail, working on reefing and tacking. Still a few bugs to work out…
Memorial Day weekend started, and we went from 6 boats to well over 100.
Next day we went on a tour of Block Is. on rantal bikes. It was quite fun and actually a bit more of a real ride than we expected. Scenery was nice.

On Saturday, our friends left on the ferry again. We cleaned up and explored around by foot and dinghy, and went for a walk on a beautiful beach.
Sunday was very windy, 18kn in the mooring field. We left and had a great sail back to the boatyard, and threaded the needle one more time. Since it was Memorial Day weekend, there were dozens of small motorboats anchored at Sandy Point which made the passage even more interesting.
Back at the boatyard again, and our last day on the dock. Tomorrow we move to a mooring and off-grid again.
