After a busy winter and spring with many life transitions, we finally made it down to Westerly, Rhode Island to get WildHorse ready to float again as our new home.
We arrived Sunday evening in wet, wild, and windy weather, then we have spent the last two days and nights on the boat on stands in the boatyard doing last-minute tasks to get ready for launch. We had electricity but no water yet, since the tanks still have antifreeze in them. Peeing in a bucket always builds character. Viva The Groover! We were very happy to have the diesel heater.
The elegance of boatyard life
Today, they picked her up to put some last minute touches of paint on the bottom, prepare the mast, and plan on splashing in the morning bright and early. Since the ladder is gone, tonight we are in a nearby La Quinta, complete with running water.

She’s up in the slings, getting last minute paint. Gotta make sure the bottom of the keel is covered too. With the boat weighing 24,600 lbs empty, you have to really trust that Travelift!

Mast all dressed and ready to go.
